Getting a Crew In and Out

Access matters more than people expect. In the newer subdivisions, driveways and garages are usually standard width, but if you're on an HOA street, check your HOA's rules on where a dumpster or trailer can sit before anything gets scheduled. Some communities restrict curb placement or require it tucked into the driveway instead of the street.

On the acreage and rural-residential lots, the issues are different: longer gravel driveways, gates that need to stay closed for livestock, and outbuildings that might need their own path cleared. Either way, walk the route a crew will actually take before the day of the job. Clear a lane through the garage, note any stairs inside the house, and flag anything fragile or sentimental you want set aside first.

Where It Actually Goes

Debris pulled from a Star property generally heads to the Ada County Landfill at Hidden Hollow off Seamans Gulch, or to the Meridian Transfer Station, both east of Star via Hwy 44 or Hwy 55.
