Estate Cleanout in Star
Complete estate cleanout services for Star families.
Delivering fresh starts since 2022
Star keeps changing fast. It's one of the fastest-growing cities in Idaho in recent years, and that growth shows up in how an estate cleanout actually runs here. A lot of the homes in subdivisions like Heron River, Movado Estates, Skybreak, and Star River Ranch are only a decade or so old, while some of the acreage along the Boise River has been in the same family much longer. Boise Estate Cleanout works both ends of that mix.
Where It Goes Once It Leaves the Property
Star sits mostly in Ada County, with some of its growth reaching into Canyon County, and that matters once a load is sorted and ready to haul.
Material from the Ada County side typically heads to the Ada County Landfill at Hidden Hollow, off Seamans Gulch Road in the North Boise foothills, or to the Meridian Transfer Station. Both are a straightforward run from Star by Hwy 44 or Hwy 55.
- Trash and general household debris
- Construction and demolition material
- Yard waste, clean wood, and concrete
- Mattresses and Freon-containing appliances (each carries a fee)
- Scrap metal and electronics
- Large metal items go through free at the Meridian Transfer Station
What Turns Up in a Star Estate
Because so much of Star is newer construction, a lot of what you find has piled up over years rather than decades. Fewer attic time capsules, more garages and storage areas that filled up fast. Three-car garages are common in the newer subdivisions, and they tend to be packed.
On the rural-residential parcels along the river, where horse and hobby-farm setups are common, the job often adds outbuildings, sheds, and tack areas on top of the house itself - tools, fencing supplies, and feed equipment on top of the usual furniture and boxes.
Worth keeping, donating, or recycling: usable furniture and appliances, hand and power tools, yard equipment, scrap metal, and electronics. Clean wood and concrete can usually be diverted rather than landfilled.
City Programs vs. Hiring It Out
Star residents get real help from the city's curbside provider, Republic Services. Scheduled bulky-item pickup covers furniture and large appliances year-round for an added fee, and Freon is removed separately after pickup. On top of that, there are two unlimited clean-up weeks each year, one in spring and one right after Christmas, where bulky items and non-Freon appliances go out at no charge.
Those programs work well for clearing out a handful of items on a normal schedule. They're not built for emptying an entire house at once, and a cleanup week doesn't line up with a probate deadline or a closing date.
If a shed or other structure is coming down as part of the job, Star's Building Department handles demolition permits. And a dumpster parked in the street right-of-way in the Ada County portion of the city needs an ACHD temporary-use permit first.
That's usually the point where a hauler makes more sense than waiting on the next cleanup week.
Between the growth, the mix of new subdivisions and river-corridor acreage, and the rules around what the landfill will and won't take, a Star estate cleanout takes a bit of local knowledge to do right. Call Boise Estate Cleanout for a free estimate.
